Those rainbow shades and ombré dye jobs seen on the streets and runway all year long are giving way to something shiny and new—at least in London. “We were seeing a lot of metallics trending in fashion and we thought, Hmm, why not hair?” says Mel Halacoglu, a senior colorist at Hari’s salon on King’s Road. Neither an ash nor platinum, this particular shade of “bronze” helps “tone down full-on blonds, as well as softly lightening winter brunettes,” she explained.Unlike the gold and silver flecks found in some nail polishes, there is no actual metal in the dye—it’s more about the magical sheen it produces.
Hari’s New Metallics (from £150), available at Hari’s Salons; see harissalons.com for more information.
