Indigo: The Color tht Changed the World

September 6, 2013 @ Selecticism

by Catherine Legrand (Thames & Hudson)

The book takes an in-depth look at the history and use of indigo throughout countless cultures and why we are still mesmerized by the ancient hue today. Legrand spent the last 20 years traveling the world  documenting the practices, garments, art, and communities the indigofera plant has had effect on. The book features hundreds of original photos, as well as unique commentary explaining why the modern world bothers with such age-old processes.
